How I Increased my Revenue x5 in One Year (while also working FEWER hours)

So how did I do it?

One word: Mindset

Before you roll your eyes, hear me out. I too once thought mindset work and things like meditation were only for “hippies”. Now I wish it was something that was taught in school, and I had learned the importance of years ago.

What is “mindset”?

Mindset is the established set of attitudes held by someone. (Thanks Google!)

Why is it important for entrepreneurs and side hustlers?

Your mindset determines how you cope with challenges, which determines if you stall or grow from hurdles and failures.

Your mindset is what helps you move on from your past and not let it dictate your future.

Your mindset determines how confident you are and whether or not you believe in yourself, believe you are good enough — which directly correlates with charging what you’re worth, being okay with saying “no” to projects and opportunities that come up that aren’t aligned with your goals, and your ability to stop caring about what others think and instead focus on what makes YOU happy.

Your mindset determines whether you build a business and life that are aligned with your purpose and happiness.

Why are mindset and meditation often categorized together?

Well because meditation helps you build a stronger mindset.

Meditation helps you block out outside influences and helps you connect with yourself, your inner voice (aka your gut), which leads to doing things that are aligned with you.

Doing things that are aligned with you brings you more happiness and more success, which brings you closer to reaching your REALLY big goals.

How I made mindset a priority:

1. I wrote out exactly what MY ideal day and business looks like then figured out how much income I need each month to make it a reality. This helped me get clear on what I am working towards instead of just working to have “more”.

2. I started each day journaling. (You can steal my daily journal secrets here!)

3. After journaling each day, I meditated for 20 minutes. I built up to 20 minutes a day using the Headspace app.

4. I really scaled back on the amount of information I was consuming and who I was consuming information from.

5. I tried different things to find what works for me — different journaling techniques, different types of meditation, different entrepreneur groups, different productivity tricks, start work first thing in the morning, start work later in the morning, waking up at 5:30am, waking up at 7am, etc.

6. I found other people who also believed in the power of mindset, so I could talk about it without sounding crazy šŸ˜‰

The last one was really key! Finding other entrepreneurs who I could be open and honest with really helped me with my mindset. However, I also know finding your tribe as a female, especially a female entrepreneur, can be really hard….
